Update to Verizon Note5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ brings Barcode Beaming support

Shortly after updating the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, Verizon has started rolling out a new update to Samsung Galaxy Note5 and S6 edge+ units on its network. Carrying a software version of VRU2BPG5, the update brings support for Barcode Beaming as well as new ways to share images and files.

The Barcode Beaming Service - the change-log says - improves the recognition response of your favorite on-device coupons, loyalty cards, and more.

As for new image and file sharing ways, the update introduces three: Profile sharing, Simple sharing, and Event sharing. The first one lets you share profiles and images, while the second one allows you to share files of up to 1 GB. Finally, with Event sharing you can share events by inviting your contacts to join them.

The update also improves the carrier's Advanced Calling as well as removes the Amazon Music app from the devices. For more information on the update, head to the Source links below.
